Sleep only works for some I feel
Not everyone can sit so still
Lying awake can in the darkness here
Noise in the distance I can still feel.
Keeps me up alone in my thoughts
Wondering why I can’t shut this off.
Thinking of the silence of my crazy thoughts.
Spinning in my mind like it’s a song.
Stop it. Replay it. The game goes on.
Only it’s me who’s listening now.
The clock in the distance only adds to the sound.
Reverse it. Repeat it. As the moon comes down.
Got to figure this out somehow
Before my world comes crashing down.
Or maybe I just lit the flame
To watch it all burn down.
