Listen to me i hear them say,
But when i speak they suddenly look away. My tone has changed and my words are lost. But they want me to listen  at any cost.
Listen to me i hear them say,
I cant get in a word or even a phase.
The silence can no longer be heard as they speak over me.
Im no longer listening.
Should i get up and leave?
Listen to me i hear them say,
They begin to anger me as i walk away. Their time is more important as they tell me to stay. Im starting to realize why i got up in the first place.
Listen to me i hear them say,
Have you been listening to anything i have to say? Does it really even matter what i say anyway?
Listen to me i hear them say,
Your thoughts consume mine, i forgotten twice what i wanted to say.
Truth be told, you never wanted me to speak. As long as you get in your words in before of me. Your words again defeat mine entirely.
Listen to me i hear them say,
Your thoughts and feeling dont matter anyway. Shut up and listen is why i want you to stay. As long as you listen to my words we’re okay.
